You would be forgiven for thinking that Indian Runners originated in India, but actually they come from Indonesia. They are also known as Penguin Ducks due to their inability to fly, nor do they waddle like the typical duck, oh no – runners, run
They are fast and when in a group they move as one, changing direction, speeding up or slowing down as a single unit, reminiscent of an intricate dance choreography. They are extremely sociable with each other and can be friendly with humans – we have one that likes to join us if we are swimming and thinks it’s a hoot to dive down and peck the swimmer’s foot.
The guy in this video is just asking for trouble.
As a breed though, they are generally timid and are easily panicked if they see something that scares them - which can be pretty much everything. Expect major duck drama if you move anything or add anything to their pen.
